High School Concert Attire
Fall Concert, Major Works Concert, All-Town Concert and Spring Concert
(Talent Expo will have a different dress code and will be posted here later in the year.)
Students are responsible for obtaining their own clothes to wear for the required concerts. The dress for all required concerts will be the same unless otherwise noted:
For Ladies: a white shirt or blouse and a black skirt or pants with black shoes.
For Gentlemen: a white, collard dress shirt with black trousers, black shoes and black socks.
Concert attire is very important. We spend so much rehearsal time trying to sound unified, together, like a group. We have to look that way also, so failure to show up on concert day wearing the correct attire will result in the student not being allowed to sing with the chorus onstage and will count as an unexcused absence for the required concert. (The full letter grade drop will apply.)
Fifth Grade Concert Attire
Traditionally the fifth grade chorus orders T shirts to wear for concerts. More information on this will be given as the time draws closer. The cost will likely be approximately $15. This is the only financial obligation a member of the fifth grade chorus will have all year. Purchasing a T shirt is mandatory. Please contact me if there is a financial concern. We’ll spend a good amount of class time seeking to sound like a unified group; we want also to look like one as much as possible. T shirts help solidify the feeling of being a part of a team, which is what our chorus will be. T shirts will be ordered in the fall, likely October.
I like nice pants to wear with the T shirts. Khakis are great, jeans are ok too. Last year, lots of hands went up and asked if their colored pants from vineyard vines are acceptable. They are. I really just want the kids to look neat. Trust your best judgment. Please, no ripped jeans, no sweat pants. Shorts are ok ONLY for the spring concert, but NOT for the December or All-Town concerts.
